Hello and thanks for stopping by. Here is a little about me and what we are doing.

I have been rehabbing for about 17 years now. I am doing this primarily due to the loss of habitat due to destruction of wilderness. Our volume of wildlife has increased dramatically. Here are the number of animals we received in 1995 and so far this year. As you can see the numbers are only going up and up...

Animal Type

1995

2005

Rabbits 14 115
Squirrels * 23 49
Raccoons 15 69
Fox (Red/Grey) 2 10

Opossum

15

97

Ducks (Wild) 12 35
Birds 54 49
* Numbers will go increase significantly after a North-Easter or Hurricane

I am both State and federally licensed. What this means is that I am legally able to handle and rehab all species native to Virginia as well as rehabbing all birds on the endangered list. The expense for  providing medical care, food and caging for wildlife has been out of our own pocket all this time. Now that we are both retired, it has become increasingly difficult for us to care for the sick, injured and orphaned wildlife.

This is one of the reasons we have this web page, so that we may obtain contributions and funding to continue providing this service to the wildlife. Jim, my husband, does all the maintenance of the caging, as well as any other work that has to be done.

We love our wildlife, but it's not only "ours" it belongs to everyone.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.
